What the Blue Heron Sees
These six paintings are from Chapter One of my book "Creative Ways to See." This book, just published on Amazon, explores nine different ways of seeing the world and encourages people to have new experiences in life. Chapter One is about the fact that birds see eleven different colors we cannot see. Insects and ripe fruit and other birds all look different from the way we see them and some things glow. I tried to imagine what the birds might see.
They are each acrylic on canvas and 30 by 24 inches.

Paintings Inspired by Plants
I am fascinated by the way things grow, the structures of living things and the layers of patterns
that draw one into another realm.

Water Reflections - series
acrylic on canvas, 33.5 by 41.5 inches
This is how I think of the magical phenomena of light falling on water. The undulating reflections of plants, sky and sunlight in a river or pond give me a fleeting glimpse of an alternate reality. These paintings are my flights of fantasy. They express my wish to follow the light to an inner state that is full of peace, hope and delight. My inspiration comes from photographs I take in parks. I hope they will lead you to someplace you enjoy.
